Hello Everyone, just a reminder the monthly meeting for February will be on Tuesday February 7th, thank you
A few members are planning an ice fishing trip to Beaverdam Lake near Clinton on the weekend of March 3rd/4th.
Rob Clement will be looking in to hotels/motels in the area so that if people come from out of town, then we’ll have a place to stay. I would like to get an idea of who wants to go so we can possibly book some rooms.
If anyone is interested they can either call Rob Celement: 604-671-7315 or e-mail him: jr_clement@hotmail.com
or they can call Markus Haukka at 604-589-8057
All are invited and welcome!
The FCFGCLUB would like to wish all its members and family/friends a healthy and prosperous 2012!
All the best for the new year in your endevours!
The next club meeting will be on tuesday January 3rd!

Annual Sturgeon fishing along the fraser river with BC SportFishing guides, a good time as always, the biggest sturgeon of the day was a whopping 9 foot 2, and the most fish caught by a single boat was 48!
Club annual hunt
Oct. 1st weekend came and went. For the annual club deer hunt we had a show of nine
hunters at the Paska Lake cabin.
As for all of us hunters the outdoors with fresh air and good friends make a good hunting
trip and if you bring something home besides dirty clothes it becomes a great trip.
This time we had Markus Rauhala and Jari Vainionpää collect a nice two point buck each
where the rest of us saw some game but nothing that was legal to hunt.
Thank you for everyone for being a part of our club activity.

No niin, takaisin maan päälle. Nyt on taas metsästys aika lähellä sekä klubin vuotuinen peuran metsästys Paska Laken majan maastossa. Kämppä on auki kaikille kiinnostuneille Syyskuun 30 – Lokakuu 4 ja majoittumisesi on tältä ajalta ilmainen. Kun ajeletten kämpälle perjantaina ja peura auttamatta ajautuu ihan eteen niin muistakaa laskea sarvien luku, kaikki pukit on auki vasta lauantaina.
Perjantai iltana saunotaan ja lauantai aamuna käydään kaato hommiin.

About hunting
Life is a one giant surprise. It wasn’t long ago when Raija Hynninen was teaching me the noble art of making ‘karjalan piirakka’. Now she is gone.
Beginning of the summer Heikki Rasilainen and I were discussing the cabin sauna roof repair and the yearly club deer hunt. Now also he is gone. May they rest in peace.
Thinking about Heikki I couldn’t help but think about saying that “one goes to better hunting grounds” when a person passes away.
Then I thought that it sure must be an awesome place to beat our mountains for scenery and game. From there my mortal thoughts started wondering about the rifle situation over there…
Ok, back to earthly hunting. The season is almost upon us and so is the yearly club hunt in the vicinity of our beautiful cabin at Paska Lake. The cabin will be reserved for the club hunt from Sept.30 – Oct.4 and there will be no usage fee for your stay during that period. When driving to the cabin on Friday afternoon you’ll most likely see a deer but make sure of the antler count before pulling the trigger. All bucks will open Saturday.
